Celebrations

PRAVESHANOTHSAVAM
In opening day, all the students in a school gather for a formal ceremony welcoming the new students. At this ceremony, new students are introduced to the other students and teachers and the teachers and principal have a chance to talk to the new students. Many of the parents of the new students attend this ceremony, often dressed formally, as a way to show support for their children and to meet some of the other parents and teachers. The ceremony marks a new period of the students' lives, as they are now in a new school and at a new stage of life.

RAMAYANA MASACHARANAM
Related to Ramayana month we organized several programs for students that helped them to know more about Ramayana. On the first day of Ramayana month guided our students to recite Ramayana in proper way which brought a devotional feeling towards each character in Ramayana. We also provide a chance for the student to read it daily in their own classrooms.

ONAM
In our school onam is celebrated with full enthusiasm and vigour .In fact it is a community festival and we call it as samoohya samarasada.We invite all the family which are staying in and around mulayankavu.All parents are also invited. Jointly we celebrate onam.A grand feast(Ona sadhya is prepared by the active involment of parents of our students.) is prepared and we invite all the poor and destitudes also .so that no one be remain hungry on the day of onam. Generally ona kodi is distributed to poorly people on onam sports (ona kalikal like pulikkali,vadam vali,uriyadi,thiruvathirakali,kasera kali) celebrated together with all parents and other people of this village .

INDEPENDENCE DAY
Our school also celebrates this festival every year. For this year we had made all the preparations. In the morning our school NCC cadets marched out in a procession through the main streets of the town with a band playing the National Anthem. The Principal was the Chief Guest of the Programme. She hoisted the national flag on the school building sharp at 8:00 am. All the students and teachers saluted the flag and then sang the National Anthem. Then followed the Cultural Programme. Patriotic Poems and Songs were recited both by the teachers and the students. Some students also presented the group dance and skits.

SANSKRIT DAY
Sanskrit day was celebrated very well by conducting special assembly and all the proceedings of assembly was conducted in Sanskrit language.All our ancient text on documented the Sanskrit language. Sanskrit is treasure house of our cultural heritage and considered as mother of all Indian languages. It is like the river Ganga for our language. If it dry up the regional languages also will loss their vitality and power. Sanskrit is mandatory in our school and teach from Ist slandered onwards. Our students are able to recite slokas and prayers in Sanskrit and can speak and write it with ease.

NAVARATHRI
Navaratri is one of the greatest Hindu festivals. It symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. Navaratri takes place at the beginning of October around harvest time. During this period, Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati are worshipped as three different manifestations of Shakti, or cosmic energy. People of Kerala celebrate Navaratri in a befitting manner. The Saraswati puja and Ayudha Puja are performed.On the Durgashtami day a ceremony called Poojavaipu is performed in the evening .Just before the Poojavaipu, all studies and work which mainly require skill, are suspended.On the Vijayadasami day after a Puja in the morning, the Books and implements are removed from the room and this ceremony is called `Puja Eduppu'.

REPUBLIC DAY
Republic Day was celebrated by the staff and students of Sree Saraswathy Vidhya Nikethan with patriotic fervour.Ret.Lt.Col Raghu Sir hoisted the national flag and spoke to the gathering about the sanctity of the occasion and the role played by the Constitutional makers. School principal Mrs.Manjula Raman threw light on various tasks to be undertaken by the present students who are the future citizens of the country. Cultural activities were held and the gathering was treated with some spectacular musical feats.
